Connect 4 goes online — play a friend with a room code

Connect 4 now has real online multiplayer. Create a room, share a short code, and drop discs against a friend in real time — on separate phones, tablets or computers, anywhere.

How it works

One player picks Online and taps Create Room to get a 4-character code. Send that code to a friend, they punch it in, and you're connected — the game starts the moment they join. No accounts, no app to install, nothing to download. It runs right in the browser on both ends.

Play again without re-sharing

When a game ends, Play Again proposes a rematch in the same room — no need to swap a new code. Both players confirm and the board resets instantly, with the first move alternating each round so it stays fair. The winner gets the celebration; the loser just sees the winning line, not a victory party.

Three ways to play

Online joins the modes Connect 4 already had, so there's a game for every situation:

• vs AI — practice against a computer opponent with adjustable difficulty.
• 2-player local — pass-and-play on one device.
• Online — room-code multiplayer against a friend on another device.

It's the classic four-in-a-row you know — quick to learn, tricky to master — now with a friend on the other end of the line.
