How to Play Minesweeper
Each cell is either safe or hides a mine. Reveal a safe cell and you'll see a number from 1 to 8 telling you exactly how many mines surround that cell. Use those numbers to deduce where the mines are. Flag suspected mines, reveal everything else, and the board is won.
- Left-click (or tap) to reveal a cell.
- Right-click (desktop) or long-press (mobile) to flag a mine.
- Double-click a numbered cell to "chord" — auto-reveal its neighbours when the right number of flags is placed.
- The first click is always safe and opens a cascade.
Three Difficulty Levels
- Easy — 9×9 grid, 10 mines. Perfect for a quick warm-up or a sub-30-second speedrun.
- Medium — 16×16 grid, 40 mines. The classic Windows "Intermediate" board.
- Hard — 30×16 grid, 99 mines. Expert-level pattern recognition.
Daily Challenge & Streaks
Every day at midnight, a brand-new Medium board is generated from a seeded random number generator. Everyone in the world plays the same board, so you can compare your time against friends and the global leaderboard. Complete the Daily and build your streak — 3 days, 7 days, even 30 days for the "Monthly Devotion" gold trophy.
No-Guess Mode
The biggest frustration in classic Minesweeper is being forced to guess at the end. Toggle on no-guess mode and every board is mathematically guaranteed to be solvable by pure logic — no 50/50 coin-flips, no unfair losses. The solver uses constraint propagation plus a tank-style backtracking pass, so even the hardest boards are deterministically beatable.

Earn 31 trophies across four tiers — 15 bronze, 10 silver, 5 gold and 1 platinum. In classic mode, mines are placed randomly (with a safe zone around your first click). That sometimes creates "50/50" endgame positions where you must guess. No-guess mode runs a solver during board generation to guarantee a logical, guess-free solution — every board is winnable by pure deduction.
How does chording work?
Once a numbered cell is revealed, you can double-click it to "chord" — if the number of flagged neighbours matches the cell's number, all other neighbours are revealed instantly. This is the fastest way to clear large open areas. On mobile, tap a revealed number to chord.
Is the daily challenge the same for everyone?
Yes — every player worldwide gets the same daily board, generated from a date-seeded random number generator. Compare your times on the daily leaderboard.
